Your tasks – to help you progress
As a Disaster Recovery Planner (f/m) you support and drive IT Service’s commitment to develop, test and validate the disaster recovery (DR) plans for the EY’s most critical business process applications, IT infrastructure services and hosting facilities through the scheduling and oversight of the execution of disaster recovery exercises.
In addition you represent Operations’ interests in solution engineering projects to ensure that the agreed upon disaster recovery infrastructure and procedures can be followed by Operations and are in line with prevailing techniques and can seamlessly be adopted upon transition into Operations. You will also draft recovery exercise plan & oversee the execution of the plan, ensuring RTO (Recovery Time Objective) & RPO (Recovery Point Objective) are met, prior to transition.
Essential Functions of the Job / Responsibilities
- Maintain list of DR plans, associated BIAs and track the “last exercised” date
- Maintain a list of the business process applications currently due to be exercised in line with the DR framework and Global Code of Connection guidance
- Work with the portfolio leads, resource management and operations to schedule the execution of identified DR exercises
- Observe and report upon the success of the exercise, identifying opportunities for improvement in the plan
- Work with appropriate teams to update the content of DR plans based upon changes in the environment and the outcome of exercises
- Consult in the development of disaster recovery infrastructure and alignment with existing operations supported solutions and procedures
Your profile – to help us progress together
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience
- Strong project management skills
- Strong resource management skills in a matrix organization
- Disaster recovery plan design and execution experience
- Strong core Office suite skills, particularly Visio & Project
- A demonstrable methodical and detailed approach
- English language skills – excellent written and verbal communication
